Photography, music, painting, creative writing, sculpture, theater and dance.  High quality arts programs are offered in a Jewish context.  Whether for fun or to develop your portfolio, the opportunities are there for the taking.


Berkshire Institute for Music and Art (BIMA)
BIMA is a summer arts program for Jewish teenagers. Located at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, BIMA brings talented teens together for four weeks in the summer to cultivate a vibrant, pluralistic environment brimming with artistic discovery and Jewish experiences. A BIMA summer experience allows you to hone your artistic skills, live and discover in a diverse Jewish community, and explore who you are as an artist.  Major areas include: Music, visual arts, writing and theater.

Children of Abraham
Children of Abraham seeks to build an international community of Muslim and Jewish youth that celebrates their religious identities. Through an engaging project involving a photographic exploration of Jewish and Muslim communities around the world, and honest, unflinching online dialogue, participants form a network of advocates and ambassadors for groundbreaking Muslim-Jewish relations in six continents.

Fresh Ink (Jewish Week)
Fresh Ink is a special Jewish Week supplement written for - and by - high school students.  Teens can write, shoot photography or illustrate articles.

Genesis at Brandeis
Genesis is an academic program that is much more than summer school. Teenagers with different beliefs and practices engage with an exceptional group of scholars, artists, activists, and experiential educators to participate in a dynamic Jewish living experience.

JCC Maccabi ArtsFest
JCC Maccabi ArtsFest is designed to inspire Jewish teens through a dynamic combination of workshop, performance, exhibition, recognition of excellence, community service, social activities, and fun. Teens develop their individuality through the medium of artistic expression while strengthening their bonds to their Jewish heritage, community and Israel.  Held in Fairfax, Virginia and Minneapolis, Minnesota this summer.

Mosaic
One month summer program in film production for teens.  Write an original screenplay, act, film, produce, direct, edit, meet industry professionals.  Manhattan film studio with industry-standard equipment.  Screening of students' film at a movie theater.  Explore your Jewish identity.

SummerArts at the Jewish Museum
SummerArts is an in-depth studio experience for high school students. The four-week program enables students to deepen their artistic knowledge and skills. Participation in SummerArts is also an opportunity for students to develop a variety of artworks that can be included in their portfolios.

Teen Intern Program at the Jewish Museum
This is an exciting experience for teenagers to explore Jewish history and culture through art and artifacts. As a Teen Intern, you will learn about the Museum's vast collection of Jewish ceremonial art, fine art and artifacts while interacting with the public. Teen Interns work in the Art Activity Center, read stories to children, assist with special Sunday family performances, and learn to conduct gallery tours. Students may fulfill community service hours or internship requirements.  Sundays.
