You are about to make one of the biggest decisions of your life. While you gather information about important things (like the number of books in the university's library!) why not also find out about Jewish life on campus?

The final word in Jewish campus life can be found at http://www.hillel.org/. Among other things, the Hillel website provides the Guide to Jewish Life on Campus. This database offers information on Jewish life on hundreds of campuses and other locations around the world. Use this handy reference to learn about population statistics, the availability of kosher food, religious life, social life and Jewish studies opportunities.
Some things to think about when deciding which university to attend:
  • What is the percentage of Jewish students at the university.
  • Is there a Hillel or a Hillel House on campus?
  • Is there a paid professional who oversees programs at Hillel?
  • Is kosher food available?
  • Are Jewish religious services offered (every day, on Shabbat, on holidays)?
  • Does the school offer Hebrew language, Jewish history, or even a major in Judaic Studies?
  • Does the university offer a term abroad option in Israel?
